Genesis 1:3 in Greek:

καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός Γενηθήτω φῶς. καὶ ἐγένετο φῶς.

Transliteration: And said The God, “Cause light.” Then [came into existence] light.

Genesis 1:3 in Hebrew:

.וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים, יְהִי אוֹר; וַיְהִי-אוֹר

Transliteration: And said God, “Let there be light.” And there was light.

Genesis 1:3 in English (KJV):

And God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light.

Commentary:

The first act of creation mentioned in the Bible is the creation of light. This fits nicely with the Big Bang Theory’s Photon Epoch. Incidentally, the Big Bang theory was initially proposed by Georges Lemaître, a Roman Catholic priest, in 1927.

Big Bang! Wait for it… Wait for it…

Ten seconds later the photon epoch begins and lasts 380,000 years. That is, if you believe the current scientific theory.
